Gary Michael Obitz, age 67, of Havre de Grace, Maryland passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023. Beloved husband of 47 years to Rachel Obitz; devoted father of Jason Obitz and his wife Rachel, and Derek Obitz and his wife Erica; loving grandfather of Kendra, Holden and Livia Obitz; dear brother of Linda, Sharon, Debbie, Chuck, and Barry. Also survived by his nieces, and nephews Sherry, Shondell, Michelle, Stephanie, Joseph, Danielle, Corey, Angela, Jessica, and Ryan; and his Parrot Sparkle; as well as many other loving extended family and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents Ruth Virginia and Charles William Obitz, II.
Gary loved spending time with his family while vacationing in Wildwood, NJ, enjoyed many cruises with his wife, playing guitar which he learned to play himself. Liked Classic Cars and listening to the Beatles.
A receiving of friends for Gary will be held Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, 610 W. MacPhail Rd, Bel Air, MD 21014, at which time a memorial service will begin at 12:00 PM.
