

He was born July 7, 1939 in Johnsonburg, son of the late Stanley and Kathryn Clerkin Kissel.
On Jan. 15, 1966, he married Patricia Bomba, and she survives.
He had lived most of his life in Ridgway. He was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, the K of C and the Elks. He liked to spend time with his children and grandchildren and he enjoyed golfing. He had served four years in the U.S. Air Force. Jerry had been employed at the Wine and Spirit Store for 27 years.
In addition to his wife in Ridgway, he is survived by three sons, Mark Kissel (Raquel) of Oakland, N.J., David Kissel (Davida) of Bel Air, Md., and Craig Kissel of Bel Air, Md.; four grandchildren, Macy and Grant Kissel, and Franchesca and Isabella Kissel; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Cano of Ocean City, Md.; nephews Brian and Brett Kissel; a niece, Cheryl Townsend; and his uncle, Leo Clerkin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Kissel.
A Memorial Mass for Gerald Thomas Kissel will be celebrated at St. Leo's Catholic Church on Saturday, Feb. 6 at noon. Officiating will be Fr. Brian Vossler, pastor. Friends will be received at the Gathering Space at St. Leo's for 30 minutes prior to the Mass. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Meehan-Shilk Funeral Home, 130 Center St., Ridgway. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
