My Grandpa  (POP)

You held my hand when I was small,
you caught me when I fell. 

I have always looked up to you, and everytime I think of you, my heart fills with pride.

Though, I will always miss you, Pop, I know that you are always by my side.

In laughter and in sorrow, in sunshine and through rain, I know you are watching over me until we meet again.

Love you, Pop.

Thank you, Pop, for all of the great memories and love you gave me. I will always be truly grateful for all of the laughs we have shared and all of the lessons you taught. I will always miss our stupid conversations, my and Maggie's birthday dinners, playing with Joker and Emily, looking for our blankets after Joker took them and buried them in the woods. I remember I was crying non-stop. You suggested we go look for them in the woods even though you knew they were gone, you still looked.  Even though you may be gone, you will never leave. I will still always see your smile, hear your laugh, feel how you always brightened up my day, and laugh at your stupid jokes. I know you can no longer stay with us. You fought long and hard to be with us this long. I love you, Pop.

You all have been in our thoughts and prayers. I’m sorry we couldn’t be with you today. There is an odd memory I thought would be fun to share. I loved all the time I spent at your house growing up! Lots of wonderful conversations over Diet Coke  or Tab around the kitchen table. One of those times, I was making a peanut butter sandwich. Mr. Joe came over and said he’d show me how to make the BEST peanut butter sandwich —- he used the knife and covered every spot on the bread! We laughed. I remember it every single time I make one!! There are so many other memories but that one stands out for me. ❤️

So sad to hear of "Big" Joe passing.  He was a tremendously important part of my life, believing in me and fighting for me at a most critical time.  I'll never forget the love and kindness he and all the DiGuardos have shown me and my family over so many years.  To my family far from home, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Joe used to help me do my math homework when I was at EHS and he was at City. He was very smart... and so handsome! He was someone very special in my young life. I am thinking of you, Annie, and Maria and Joey.

Some of my fondest memories involved Uncle Joe and your family.  Laughter and good times came very naturally whenever he and my father got together.  He will be greatly missed by so many.  You all hold a very special place in my heart.
