To the Wade family: I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Larry's memory will live on, not only in his family, but in the hearts of the many people he befriended and mentored. 

It took me a few weeks before I felt able to put my grief into words. I met Larry in a dark point of my life, many years ago. When he and Ari hired me at PetSmart, they saw something in me that I could not see in myself. Mere weeks into my employment, I relapsed into addiction. Larry did what most wouldn't and gave me time off to get the help I needed. Without his kindness I may not have made it out of those dark days. 

Larry became a mentor to me, helping me grow into the leader he always knew I could be. He helped me find my true strengths, and those lessons in leadership were useful in so many aspects of life. Though the years went by and we went our separate ways, he never failed to call me regularly to catch up. The last time we spoke, in February, we commiserated about virtual learning, but he was so genuinely happy to be able to help his grandkids. Then he told me how proud he was of me. I will forever cherish that conversation.

Rest in peace Larry, and thank you for believing in me.

I witnessed with admiration the impact you had on individuals as well as teams.   You had the innate ability to connect with people making them feel  important.    You treated people with respect with  your ability to effortlessly empathize.    The courage you displayed to challenging us with any needed change.   The credit  you passed on to those around you and maybe more importantly how they felt, that look in their eyes, when that praise came from you.    You were inspirational.

I will always cherish the casual moments sitting in your office talking about life.     Seeing your face light up when telling stories of your family and showing  me the photos of special memories.   I felt envy and joy for the full rich life you built around yourself.  

In  my times of stress you helped create calm.  In murky situations you added  vision.   You had a direct impact on my life with the friendship  and guidance you bestowed upon  me. You made me stronger.     You will be missed.

Larry was a truly genuine person.  His smile talking about his family is unforgettable. I remember when his granddaughter was on the field at the O's game - he showed that video so many times as people were coming into work and he was so excited EVERY time. His smile was contagious- if he was smiling, even if I was in a bad mood, I was smiling. Larry also had an appreciation and enthusiasm for food that I can very much relate to- Chipotle Wednesdays (Monday and Wednesday?!), Pit Beef Fridays, Amish Market Saturdays… He was a great leader and I was incredibly lucky to know him. You will be missed. 

Larry’s smile said it all.  He was such a warm, caring, loving, friendly individual.  From the moment you met him you knew that he was an exceptional person.  You will be missed and are loved by so many people.  Prayers for the family.

I don’t even know where to start… Larry took a chance on me almost 14 years ago as a pet trainer with no experience. But he told me that he saw something in me that he just couldn’t deny. He learned to trust what I said/did and empowered me to make decisions for myself and as a leader. But he wasn’t just a great leader himself… He was truly a friend that cared. When I had to be taken to the hospital he was the first one there to make sure that I was OK. And then when our son Wyatt was born he was the first non-family member to come to the hospital less than 12 hours after he was born. It meant so much to Kari and I that he came and it’s something that we never forget! Him & Mrs. Susan watched our dogs a few times while we were on vacation and took great care of them! Wyatt still remembers Larry and taking the dogs over to his house. What I remember most is the mentor that Larry was to me throughout my career. I’ve been able to call him no matter where I’ve worked or what I’m doing, he always picked up the phone or returned the phone call to make sure that I was OK. Larry you will most definitely be missed! But your impact will never be forgotten in this world, from leadership to friendship to Orioles fandom and hanging out on every opening day… I’ll always remember you!

I am saddened to her of Larry's passing.  I will always have fond memories of Larry at Frostburg. Our thoughts and prayers are with  Susan and the entire Wade family.  


I am very saddened to hear of Larry's passing. He was a good college roommate and I wished we could have kept in touch more over the past 25 years.  The Wade family and friends, you have my deepest sympathy. 

At least Larry got to see the Eagles win a Super Bowl. RIP, Larry. 

What sums up a life cut too short?  When I shared my sorrow for your loss with someone this past week,  they stated something that resonated: “he had an infectious smile and personality that everyone wanted to be around.”  While I am extremely sad that you’re gone, I am grateful to have known you and been your friend.  I will miss our conversations.

How I will miss my "other son."  My affection for Larry is deep rooted and lasting.  From the moment we met him he was special - as is Susan.  I could not have asked for a better Extended family member.  I will miss him terribly.  He was always there with a smile and a helping hand.  I hope he is with those who have gone before, and having a good time with them.  Rest in peace Larryn - Hope Raven was there to greet you!



When I first met Larry at VIP he greeted me with laughter and a warm smile when I entered his office. He was always firm, fair, and did what was right for others. He was a leader that I looked up to and wanted to perform like. We had many conversations where his encouragement really allowed me to keep pushing forward. He never allowed me to feel like I was not capable but, lifted me up to do better. I will never forget my co-worker and friend Larry. He truly was a blessing to me and I am so honored I had the chance to meet and to know him. Rest well Larry! You will be missed!

Larry was a great leader and no matter the challenge at Pet IQ he embraced it to support his team, peers, and the business. Our teams time with Larry was far to short, but every moment was memorable.  Most of all I will miss the friendship chatting about our AFC North Football rivalry game twice a year, the gardening tips I would receive, our zero turn conversations, and many more...  You will be missed by all of us.

My first memory of Larry was at Petsmart 0362, he was getting ready to take over being the Store Manager. While Roger was walking with Larry they stop at register 1 where I was cashiering. Roger points at me and looks to Larry and says "you see this girl? You take good care of her because she is like a daughter to me." He did, he was not only a great manager/leader but a great friend.  When I lost my daughter I remember him just holding me and letting me cry. He truly cared about each and every person he worked with. He went above and beyond. Whiles he may be physically gone, he will NEVER truly be gone. He will remain in the hearts of so many that were blessed to know him. Once Petsmart family...ALWAYS Petsmart family. We Love you!

I met Larry 12 years ago when I started with PetSmart . I was sent to him for training . 2 weeks into my training my sister suddenly passed away. He didn’t really know me , but the compassion , support and love he showed  me was something that immediately connected us .  After that moment , he wasn’t just my mentor he was a friend ,  confidant and my cheerleader .  To know Larry , is to love him . His genuine soul and big smile could make your day . Larry was a positive impact on my life and I will truly miss him.  In this picture we volunteered  at the SPCA in Annapolis . Larry told me “to scoot up some kid ,there’s room for two” After he sat he said “See I told ya I’ll always have your back” Rest In Peace my Friend . How can you sum up such a kind, caring, genuine mentor into words? Larry was always there for anyone at PetIq that needed his help, counsel, or just a listening ear. No matter how matter how late the phone call was or how long I rambled on with questions Larry was always there, judgement free. What started as a mentorship grew into a long distance friendship over the 5 short years we worked together. Larry, it still feels unreal that I won't see your name pop up on my phone this Thursday for our weekly chat. I have been incredibly lucky to been just one of the many lives touched by your gracious and giving nature. I hope there is plenty of whiskey up there awaiting you. Until we meet again... 

RIP Cuz🙏🙏🙏.  I’ll always remember how you made everyone laugh when you were around!!  You were a great cousin, son, father, grand pop and friend..  you will be greatly missed but always in our hearts. Rest easy. Thoughts and prayers to all. ❤️🙏

To my “work dad,” who always made sure I’d made it home ok, that I was only going to the “Larry-approved” restaurants while in DC, and was one of the kindest, gentlest, honest souls to have walked this Earth. I was beyond privileged to have the opportunity work alongside Larry at PetIQ.  He will be missed beyond measure.   

What can you say about the sweetest, kindest, most genuine soul that would come close to doing him justice? Larry was one of a kind, a true friend and mentor. My time with Larry was too short, but he's left an imprint for a lifetime. 

Larry, I will always cherish our wonderful friendship we have had through the years, starting at Petsmart. You as a friend can never be replaced, that was stolen, but the comfort of having had such a great friend can never be taken. You will be missed each day, and my loving thoughts are with you every moment. Larry was one of the most Genuine people I’ve ever met. He loved and cared about his family & friends very deeply.  I loved him. My heart goes out to Susan, Larry’s Family, friends and coworkers. Your friendship went way beyond Petsmart! You will be missed more then word can say.  I hope that heaven is as beautiful as the pictures and pages that we read about. I am sorry we lost you my friend, I am sorry that this world has lost such a great person. Watch over all of us because god knows, we all are jealous of the angels! 

Larry , you were a great mentor , leader , peer . But most of all you were the definition of a friend/(brother).  I cherish the time that we worked together,  and the times we got together after Petsmart life.  I will really miss our talks .  May you rise on high and be at peace. 


Larry was truly a great person and always welcoming.  I have very fond memories of spending time at the Wade's home and can remember the amazing 4th of July fireworks that Larry would set off for the neighborhood.  I was very fortunate to have met Larry and to have known that I always had a welcoming home to come visit.

Larry was the kindest, warmest most genuine gentleman I have ever known. I met Larry 15 years ago when I starting working at PetSmart. What started out as a working relationship - turned to a friendship with not just him but his beautiful,  lovely wife Ms Susan ... who is also just like Larry.... kind and warm and genuine.  And that friendship grew to an extended family relationship over the years.  Heaven definitely gained an angle.... say Hi to Ravie & Saffie & Ralphie & Daytona for me up there Lar.  Sending all our Love to you always! 


Larry was a good man with a big heart.  I worked at VIP Pet Care with him and he was always there to help you out. He loved his family and always talked about them. He will be missed. My condolences to his family.  The world is a little less bright without his smile. 

So incredibly sorry to Susan and family and Aunt Cass and Wade cousins.  Although I didn’t see Larry much I remember him as a lovable, fun loving guy.  RIP Cuz.  Sending prayers and love to all .  Love Audrey

Larry hired me at Petsmart way back in 2004. He was my boss and my friend. Years later when returned to the same Petsmart,we reconnected. When he retired from Petsmart, I felt obligated to drive to Bel Air to say my goodbye! He gave me the biggest hug and I know he was holding back the tears. I will truly miss you Larry!! My sincere condolences to Larry’s family !! He was a good man and will be truly missed!! 

I have plenty of great memories of Larry,  one of which is when he drove up to visit grandmom and grandpop in Collingswood about 25 years ago.   He drove a maroon Ford f-150.  It was stick shift.   I think I was 15 and he took me out to try and teach me how to drive stick... when I was 15 (driving age was 17 in NJ)....in his truck...on a hill!  He kind of just laughed at me when I stalled the truck every single time!  Love you Larry.
