Unexpectedly, on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, Madison Alivia Brookshire passed away. She is the beloved daughter of Douglas Brandon and Laura Teresa Wienholt Brookshire; loving sister of Andrew, Austin and Eli Brookshire; devoted granddaughter of Robert and Teresa Wienholt and Helen Diane Robinson and the late Douglas Brookshire; cherished niece of Robert and Leah Wienholt, Thomas and Erica Wienholt, Joel and Erica Wienholt, Kassandra Wienholt and Christopher Carpenter; dear cousin of Benjamin, Jeremy, Nicholas, Andi, Naomi and Emery Wienholt.

Madison was born on March 13, 2006, in Palm Beach, Florida, where she lived until 2016 when she moved to Forest Hill, Maryland. Madison was the daughter that every parent dreams about, the best big sister, and the friend that would always make you feel better. She knew when someone needed a laugh, smile or just a reminder of how much they are loved. Madison truly was an amazing person. She blessed us with her crazy personality and absolute, without hesitation, love of life.

Following in her mother's footsteps, Madison began studying as a freshman at The John Carroll School where she was already making an impact as a dedicated and extremely talented student whose personality brightened her classes. She loved to travel and was halfway to her goal of seeing National Parks in all 50 states. She lived a very full life at the tender age of 14. Madison had big dreams with detailed plans to achieve them. She wanted to attend Greensboro College, study to be an orthodontist, get married and have kids of her own. She would want those who love her to know she is at peace and to remember her living out her dreams with that beautiful smile of hers. Love you "my pretty" as her brother Austin would say.

In lieu of flowers, a Memorial Scholarship has been established at the John Carroll School to honor Maddie’s memory. To make a gift, please visit johncarroll.org/maddiebrookshire. This scholarship will allow her to continue giving and make it possible for more students to experience John Carroll.

Family and friends will gather at the Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc. (610 W. MacPhail Road Bel Air, MD 21014) on Tuesday, Oct. 27th from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Madison's Life Celebration Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Mountain Christian Church (Mountain Road Campus - 1802 Mountain Road Joppa, MD 21085). Interment in Darlington Cemetery, Darlington, MD. Online condolences may be left at: www.shimunekfuneralhomes.com

We send our deepest heartfelt sympathy to your family during this very difficult and sad time. There aren't any words that will ever take away the deep pain of loss but please know that others do care. With each new day may God give the strength needed as you try to cope. Madison touched the lives of many others and will always be lovingly remembered.

Madison was another "Angel" here on earth sent from Heaven for a purpose.
At our daughter Erica's wedding our granddaughter and Madison were the flower girls. Our granddaughter was throwing a fit about her shoes hurting her right before the ceremony was to begin. Madison immediately stepped in and resolved the issue that made everyone happy. She came up with a quick solution and everything for the wedding went wonderfully smooth.
Madison was a "peace maker" and it came naturally to her. She was one of the sweetest young ladies we have ever met. She had a beautiful smile and gave wonderful hugs to let you she truly cared.
We feel the hurt and the pain the family is going through as we lost our granddaughter five years ago at the tender age of two.
We prayer that our Savior's comfort will surround them and give the family peace and the hope of the Resurrection. Love you all.

I wasn’t very close to Madison, but she was best friends with some of my friends and she had the sweetest soul. I went to the same party as her a few years ago and she seems liked the sweetest and funniest girl ever. She’s beautiful and did not diserve this. She was such an amazing girl and impacted all. Sending my condolences❤️

I only knew her for 18 months. But the memories Brooke and I (along with Caitlyn Fetzer) shared with her I will forever cherish. I remember one time, before 5th grade in Caitlyn’s backyard. We were gossiping and all sitting on her hammock, and we made the executive decision to start swinging like crazy. Let’s just say that didn’t end well, and the hammock tipped over. I remember looking at her, and just bursting out laughing. Every-time I saw her, with Caitlyn and Brooke. We always ended up laughing until we couldn’t breathe. Her passing hit Brooke and I in ways we didn’t expect. But I am glad that she is not in pain anymore. We are sending our love and support.
Sincerely
Brooke and Meghan Minor ❤️
P.S. I hope y’all continued the Tropical Storm Buddy Tradition at Caitlyn’s house.

Maddie was always the highlight of my day when I walked into tech ed class each morning (she was always the best partner) and gym class in the afternoon. She could always make me laugh on the worst and best days and was an amazing girl to be around! 🤍

To heavens brightest angel,
Maddie, I love you. You were truly a girls best friend. I had the blessing of becoming your nanny about 5 years ago. I flew on my first plane with you, I went through my first break up with you, you taught me how to fish tail braid, and you were always there to put a smile on the faces of your brothers and on mine. You taught me this thing you called “half birthdays” and celebrated my first “half birthday” with me. It’s been 5 years since you taught me that and I still do it. There are so many memories I have with you , I could truly write a novel. You rest easy up there baby girl , I love you.
