I just learned of Marty's passing this morning at Sacred Heart of Jesus where Marty often filled in as organist.  I still can't believe it.  My sincere condolences to his family and friends who mourn his loss.  He was a gift musician and someone I called friend.

Marty's beautiful music has been such an important part of our worship at Temple Emanuel, and he was always so warm and friendly. He will be missed greatly. May his memory be a blessing.

Marty was such a talented young man.  Mt. Carmel was blessed to have him.  My condolences to his family.

I heart is broken over the news of Marty's death.  I have so many memories of him over the years, as a young high school student attending our MUSIC MINISTRY ALIVE program in our early years; his beautiful and youth-filled smile, his brilliance and his musical talents. I personally enjoyed so many of the talks that he and I had over the years, and I know that I have been enriched by this young man's spirit and dedication to music, ministry and the basic goodness of all people. Along with a love for music (esp. Lori True and Gershwin), Marty also taught me the importance of selfless service.  We were high school friends.  As a 17-year-old, my reason for serving others was the joy it brought me, Marty (then 16) reminded me that this was just a side-benefit.  We serve others to serve God. Although I disagreed with him at the time, I know now he had wisdom beyond his years.  He will be missed!  I can't begin to know the pain those close to him must be feeling. Marty touched the lives of many young adults and his fellow teachers through his musicianship and leadership as part of the team for Music Ministry Alive! You have left your print on our hearts--we will dearly miss your gentle spirit, Marty.

Marty was a wonderful young man and an exceptional muscian.  He will be missed at Temple Emanuel on many levels.  My family had the priviledge of getting to know him this past summer during our travels to Israel.  I am so sorry for your loss.

 I really liked the way he played music at Temple Emanuel, I remembered every time the Rabbi entered the sanctuary, his music would get my attention. He was a great musician. He must have had many years of pactice to play such music.

I knew Marty since we shared a CCD class together in the 2nd grade and spent four years as his classmate at JCS. His enthusiasm, purity and amicable, musical presence never wavered. I was especially moved by his tribute to his late father during the 03' Senior Variety Show and feel very saddened by this news but also very grateful to have known such a kind, gentle soul for a span of time I wish could've been much longer.

This is such a tragedy.  Marty was a gifted composer and musician.  I have many fond memories of teaching him at Mountain Christian School.  I was also blessed to have him as a colleague at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.  My prayers to Diane and Kim and all who knew and loved him.

One of my greatest joys was to hear Marty sing Oh Holy Night at Christmas Eve Mass. I could never get through the song with dry eyes. He has the voice of an angel and will be greatly missed. Prayers to his family.
