Aunt Nancy was such a loving, caring person. She made the holidays! Her beautiful turkeys and  sausage stuffing was the best! You always knew you would be leaving with multiple containers 🥰. She would always throw a fit that we were eating oysters in the garage instead of sitting inside. We have so many holiday pictures in front of her perfectly designed flower arrangements. There was always so much laughter around the table. Her organized shift eating was executed so perfectly. I will always remember her laughter and love she gave to us. 

In Loving Memory of My Aunt Nancy and Godmother. How lucky we all were to have been blessed with such a caring ,loving and totally unselfish person! No one can predict the future but we can All remember the past. I remember my Aunt Nancy’s breathtaking smile and her hilarious, beautiful laughter filling the kitchen on Thanksgiving holiday! Although holidays might not look or feel the same anymore with you up in heaven..you will always bring me laughter and joy everyday just tucked away in my heart.

Betsy and I remember one visit to Nancy’s and Al’s when Nancy was discussing how she ate M&Ms. There was a system/strategy if you will to keep the candy eating in check. First she would separate them into the respective color catagory. Reds with reds , yellow with yellows, green with greens, orange with orange and brown with browns. There were NO BLUE ones at the time… each day she would eat  1 M&M from each color, creating her own portion control. Betsy and I have laughed about that for years! I on the other hand have no control over M&M, except for the BLUE ONES , I won’t eat them…. They just aren’t  natural. Maybe we were more alike then we thought. REst in peace dear sister, you are truely missed

My Dearest Mother,
I am forever grateful for all the life lessons you have taught me over the years. I know I didn't walk the straightest line growing up, but somehow you always showed me the right path. In 2010 when my world fell apart, you were the one who put me back together. I will remember your words for the rest of my life. Looking back I realize now it was a blessing. Not just for me, but our family. The time you spent with our boys was priceless. Many memories of backyard water gun fights, hopscotch, slip and slides, a trip to the moon sleigh riding, all the cooking lessons, and a forever melting igloo in the front yard!
I will always cherish these memories.
I have learned so much in the past few months. Patience, Compassion, dignity, and selflessness. Your strength shows in all of us, and I now realize, my hero has been with me this whole time.      And she is something to see.....  just like you :)

One for starters I think that she was the greatest chef I have ever had the pleasure of seeing hit some of my greatest memories of her are in the kitchen. She made me love cooking from making salsa to spaghetti sauce you name it she and I made it I wish to carry on her recipes to be close but nearly as good as her. We will all miss her and i hope to someday be as great as her. 

A story of Nancy and I that I find humorous would be the time where she would set up the inflatable water pool with a slide. When it got hot enough out to the point where we would complain, she would set up the water pool. Oh how much fun it was just the four of us Matthew, Joe, Nancy and I. It was the best, after we had our fair share of the slide she would bust out the water guns, then Al would bring out the gloves. we called them (The big bomb.) These things upon exploding would get you completely drenched. Al would bring out the five gallon bucket full of water to keep us refilled all of the time to squirt each other.  The time came where Nancy would want to go inside, as she turned her back she said ( Don't squirt me or you will get it.) as soon as she turned her back we would absolutely drench her. oh how mad she got at us, but she was so kind not to punish us for it.

Dear Gina, Mike and Al~
Whenever my parents talked about the days of the boys playing baseball (Mike and Mike),  it was with a big smile and laugh.   Your parents and mine and the others had a blast!  It was the first time I realized "old" people could act crazy too...lol! Your mom was always such a sweet-heart.  The loss of such a loving person leaves a big hole in your heart.  Thinking of you all!

I was lucky enough to know Miss Nancy for 11 years.  I was welcomed into their family right away.  I spent lots of hours sitting around the kitchen table talking and laughing with Miss Nancy.  I learned very quickly that her cooking was the best around.  It was always so exciting when she opened the refrigerator, pulled out a bowl of something and would say “Look what I made today!”  Although she would think it was just so-so, everything she made was unbelievable!  There is an endless list of recipes that I hope we can replicate as best we can.

If I had to sum up who she was, I would say that she was a lady.  She was beautiful inside and out, always looked amazing and had a warm smile and fun personality. With that said, she had a silly side to her and she loved to tease me.  She would sneak through the house, wait for the perfect moment to jump out from behind a wall and scream.  She got me every time and I would always tell her that she seemed like the innocent one in the family, but she was the “under cover” crazy one!  I can hear her little giggle in my mind, and that will always make me smile!  And of course, none of us will ever forget the "waffle" incident! 

Although I will always love and miss her, I learned a lot from her and there are so many things about her to keep alive in our family.  


My earliest memories of Miss Nancy are from my childhood when I would go next door to play with Gina and Michael. Miss Nancy was always warm and welcoming with Kool-Aid and snacks on hand. Later, when I became a “latch key” kid, she was my person to contact if I needed anything or, as would happen with some regularity, I forgot my key. We would often talk when I came over for the key. She was a person  who made you feel good, even in a passing conversation. I did not see Nancy as much in the years since I moved to Virginia, but I’ve always loved hearing family updates from my mom and knowing that my parents had such good friends and neighbors in Nancy and Al.  We will all miss Nancy so much.

I will never forget all the holidays that we spent together as a family. It was always so much fun to be at your house. I will always remember your laughter. You will never be forgotten.

Adding to what Gail has said for both of us, I would like to tell you of the time Nancy may have saved my life, or at least kept me from having a broken arm or leg. It was probably in the early 1980's when both homes were fairly new  and I was still venturesome enough to go up a ladder  and onto our roof to do some repair or cleaning of gutters.  I did this one day when Gail wasn't home ( a big mistake). When I attempted to get on the ladder to return to our deck the ladder started to move at its base.  After several attempts, I realized that this maneuver would likely not end well.  So wanting to be on the safe side I decided to wait for Gail to return.  After about 40 minutes (a long time when stranded on a roof), I heard a friendly voice from down below asking very politely if I would like some help getting off of the roof.  I was delighted and relieved to see Nancy below with a knowing grin that indicated she saw the problem and knew how to fix it. Needless to say Nancy has always been one of my favorite people. A lady of grace with a good sense of humor. She will be sorely missed. Tom 

     Aunt Nancy and Uncle Al have always been very special to us.   We spent many a Saturday evening in their kitchen eating, drinking and laughing.   Aunt Nancy was always prepared for who ever walked through the door.   On quite a few occasions these visits turned into impromptu parties.
     We will miss her witty humor, her giggle and her caring gestures.  The silly things she'd say or do.  And with the holidays around the corner we will miss receiving our Christmas Card, which was always the first of the season.
      She was and will always be very dear to us.  
     
    

When I first met Nancy and Al at there joppatown home I thought they were going out because they had there coats on only to find out Nancy didn't want to turn the heat on. Nancy would always be the one to contact for any family information and if she didn't have the answer then she would have it tomorrow.will miss her dearly

my mother in law in title only . She was my mom ! always treated me as though i was her son.  went out of her way on many occasions to make me feel special . we had a special food connection. she knew the foods i liked to eat and how i liked them made and time after time she impressed me. she loved my crab cakes and i loved making them for her ! it made me feel good to do something for someone who was always putting others 1rst even though it was small in comparison.  she was so generous so caring and so sweet . she had a rare way of not saying anything bad about people even ones that you knew werent high on list . she was so funny in her own little way.  she was so strong ! we should all hope to have a fraction of her strength even when faced with the worst news you could ever receive.  i loved her so much and i will miss her more than i can express.  i havent had much luck in my time  but feel extremely lucky to have had her in my life.  RIP MOM 

I was very blessed to have gotten to know and be around my Mom Mom. She was really one of a kind, and there wasn't a time where she seemed to be down or in bad spirts. I've never gotten to know someone who was always happy to do anything for anyone. I remember when I was younger how much I would look forward to her picking me up to take me to her house. Those were always my favorite memories that I had when I was a kid. She was as close to a second Mom to me as you could get. She cared so much about me and loved having me around all the time, I am really grateful that I was able to be so close to her and spend time with her.  She was the best Mom Mom that I could have ever hoped for, and I know that she is watching over me and will always be with me. I love you and miss you beyond belief mom mom but I promise to see you again one day.

In the past forty-three years, Al and Nancy and Tom and I lived side by side sharing our lives as parents, empty nesters, grandparents and retirees.
Nancy’s family and friends know her as a woman of many talents. She was a fabulous homemaker with excellent taste and artistic skills.  Her home was picture perfect as were the gardens and landscaping. Her cooking was legendary. Whenever I hear the expression, “bring out the second turkey,” I think of Nancy’s second or third turkey and ham for her her family at Thanksgiving along with take-home bags! She was also talented in accounting and quickly adapted to technology. Whenever I had a computer problem, I would depend on a solution by Nancy.
When Robert Frost wrote, “Good fences make good neighbors,” he was not aware of Nancy and Al. Their door was open and they always welcomed you in for a drink and a chat at the kitchen table. Nancy and I shared personal anecdotes and family stories over the years and always felt restored in the telling. To me, the loss of Nancy as my friend and neighbor is the loss of part of my own identity, but I will always take comfort in the memory of her strength, generosity, and beautiful, loving spirit.

To Al, Gina, Michael and the Rotundo Family, 
          Our hearts are broken with the loss of an incredible lady, past neighbor and my best friend. Nancy was always there if  you needed something or would listen if you needed to vent. She had a beautiful house, family and heart. We made so many memories together including:

When we were painting ceramics together she put her paint brush in her coffee and try to paint with it —we laughed for hours. 

She met my husband Mr Whitehead as he was hopping her fence with a beer (Pabst blue ribbon) in his hand and asked if she saw a big red bird fly by with a chain hanging from the foot as he lost his parrot and Nancy thought he had a little too much beer.

She could not find her son Michael’s tennis shoes she called me to look at our house for them. We found them three months later in the back of my sons toy truck at my house. She had to get him new shoes. Michael always left his underwear at our house every time he went to bathroom. She had to buy more.

Nancy’s  washing machine went up, my dryer went up. Then her microwave went up, and my microwave went up. We both got the same microwave with in a week of each other with out knowing it. Then my dishwasher went up and hers broke a month later. 

We babysat their dog “Butch” while their new house was being built, we could not find him one day and searched the neighborhood only to find out he was under the bed the whole time.

I wanted to share some fond and funny memories that will never be forgotten! I will miss talking to my dear friend every week for hours.———as she was my best friend!!  Now , pain free and at peace!! I will miss you dearly!

My fondest memory will always be my mother. The strongest, most courageous person I will ever know. She was the most devoted mother always making sacrifices for her family, very thoughtful, so patient, talented, funny and a great listener. The accountant, she had enormous respect for money, how to save the most and prioritized every purchase…with, of course, a copy of the receipt for her files. The best cook…holiday gatherings, birthday dinners, or just an everyday seasonal apple pie, it was perfection! The greenest thumb in the garden, most organized, classy dresser, silly, proper and quick witted- all rolled into one. She made everyone a better person and I’m eternally grateful that she was chosen to be my mother. If happiness is determined by our circumstances and joy is finding the silver lining when you are at your lowest, then I will try and find joy in knowing she is still with us…in each of us. The funny memories, the habits that were intentionally taught, the love we show each other is all from her! Our lives have changed forever-but life must go on. She was there at my first breath and I was there for her last. She took care of us and in the end, we took care of her! When should couldn’t fight anymore, we fought for her. And in her final hours if she was afraid, I was not! May God give her everlasting peace. 
You never once asked why,
Played the hand you were dealt,
And through it all even smiled,
Your laughter so heart felt.
Your battle you overcame,
The war not so brief,
To find your only cure,
Were prayers and your belief. 
I knew the end was near,
And soon we would part,

Mrs. Nancy was a beautiful person. She always had a sense of style that looked like a million dollars.  I have had the pleasure of  knowing her and her family just about my entire life. I am honored to have been a part of her beautiful world and family. I will miss her very much.  Mr. Al, Gina, and Michael please know that the Wagner family considers your family not only our best friends, but an extension of our family. We are all just a phone call away. I didn't have the pleasure to be around Nancy often. In fact, I was only around her a few times. But those few times were enough to know that she was an incredibly thoughtful, caring lady. She always put others first mainly her family! I know Gina would talk to her mom about me and my kids. It always made me feel so special when Gina would tell me that her mom asked about me and genuinely wanted to know how I was doing or how my family was doing.  When I got married and moved, Nancy wanted to see the pictures of my new home and looked at them with Gina. Again, Gina sharing with me that her mom cared made me feel so special! I will greatly miss hearing about Nancy and my heart breaks for your family! She was clearly a wonderful lady beautiful on the inside out!

A memory of my much loved Sister.  When Nancy traveled to Florida to see me, you could always count on her to have a coupon for the restaurant we visited in Tampa.  If she had forgotten anything in her suitcase, it was not the coupon she needed for dinner.  Now if that coupon had expired, she would talk to the waiter and, miraculously, that coupon would be good.   We then had a nice appetizer or free dinner.  How good she felt saving that money at the start of her trip.   There will not be a day that goes by we won't think of something she said or did that made us laugh or smile.    

My memory goes back 24 years ago. I was planning my wedding and Gina was my maid of honor and Ms Nancy was going to create all my flowers because I do not have a creative bone in my body. I bought all this flowers and ribbons and drop them off to Ms Nancy. Weeks laters I had the most beautiful flowers for the wedding. She was the most creative person I know and Gina takes after her. She will be dearly missed. Love Michele

There are so many memories it’s hard to pick any specific one. My sister was so talented with investing money to purchasing everything with a discount. She made every flower arrangement and bouquet for my wedding and no doubt she could have had her own business he she wanted. When my Mother passed she did her best to fill the void and continue our traditions. We called each other every week and laughed at the silliest things. She was my best friend and the void is irreplaceable. Until we meet again, save me a seat where we will continue the laughter.

My fondest memory of Aunt Nancy has to be growing up and spending every Thanksgiving at The Rotundo's. She was an amazing cook, hostess and made the BEST gravy! All the cousins, aunt's, uncles and kids would sit around the table in the kitchen taking turns eating, clearing our plates and washing them for the next family member.  She reminded me a lot of Grandma Murray. We'd tell stories, catch up on everyone's life and when something  was said that was exciting or taboo, you would hear Aunt Nancy say, "Oh my WORD!" I'll never forget all of the great times at Uncle Al's and Aunt Nancy's house. She will never be forgotten, and I pray she is resting in peace now. Love Always, Christy

Our hearts are saddened by the loss of Nancy.  She was a remarkable wife, mother, sister, aunt and cousin; who will be missed by everyone who knew her.  
The blessing is we shared a part of a well lived life. She made everyone smile, just seeing her.  Our prayers are with Nancy and her family.

Dear Family, I am terribly sorry to hear of Nancy's passing but truly believe she is at rest in a much better place. I remember the Saturday crab get-togethers with Al, Nancy, Janet and the kids. What I recall most about Nancy was her sense of humor and her quick whit to add something to a joke or comment, which always seemed to make us laugh even more. I have nothing but fond memories of Nancy and again wish the family nothing but comfort during this difficult time.
