A flannel shirt, a lit cigarette, and a hot coffee. That’s how we’ll remember seeing Scott Buttner. His smile and slight smirk after a joke, the pride in his step after watching his girls thrive on the lacrosse or soccer field…all images we hope won’t soon fade from your mind.
But it’s Scott’s immense love for his family that we hope people will never forget. That love will be Scott’s legacy.
Scott Adam Buttner passed in the early morning hours of August 12, 2025.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland on March 27, 1979 – he grew up in Perry Hall where he proudly wore his Gators jerseys. Many may have fond memories of Scott shooting hoops or #28 defending the lacrosse goalie, but did you know Scott was his middle school’s intramural ping pong CHAMPION?
At Perry Hall High School – Scott fell in love with Jenna in chemistry class. After thirty years, that “chemistry” never did fade.
Along with his wife, Jenna, Scott leaves behind his children Emma, Bella, and Zachary Arosemena and Zack’s fiancée, Emily Schulte.
He survived by his parents, Nancy and John Pedersen as well as his siblings John Michael Wakefield - and his son Lincoln, Scott’s brother Lucas Buttner, and sister Kristin Schrengost, brother-in-law Barry, and their children Addison and Bennett.
Being part of his wife Jenna’s family for decades, Scott was loved by his in-laws Nick Nolan and his wife Alice Nolan and Eve Andrews and her husband Barry along with their children, spouses, and grandchildren.
Next time you hear a Buffett song, binge watch Shark Week, or see a French Bulldog that looks like his beloved George – think of your buddy Scott…don’t cry, smile…because “if we didn’t laugh, we’d all go insane.”
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to support the continuing education of Scott’s daughters.
Scott worked so hard to give Emma and Bella the opportunity to attend private school, schools where they are surrounded by support and encouragement. Your contribution to this GoFundMe page will be a lasting tribute to Scott’s love and legacy to his daughters.
