On June 4, 2013, Vernon E. Smallwood, age 94, and a World War II Veteran, passed away peacefully. He was the devoted husband of the late Katrina “Kitty” Smallwood (nee: Kelly); beloved father of Phyllis L. Gibson and her husband Dennis and Vernon Lee Smallwood and his wife Roanne; loving grandfather of Darren Gibson and his wife Melissa, Kevin Gibson, Alex Smallwood and his wife Meghan and Mitchell Smallwood; cherished great grandfather of Ryan, Rayn and Cory Gibson, as well as baby boy Smallwood arriving in September.
Relatives and friends may gather at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air 610 W. MacPhail Rd. Bel Air, MD 21014, on Monday 3-5 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11am at the Funeral Home. Interment Highview Memorial Gardens.
