Bill was my Friend! Bill was introduced to me at the December 2013 Marine Corps League meeting. Dave Narango recruited Bill at a toys 4 Tots fundraiser. Bill was excited to be involved in the League and enjoyed the comradery and the prospect of helping fellow marines and the community. Bill was a down to earth guy and was liked by everyone; we hit it off right away. We enjoyed getting together with friends and family. Going to Natalie’s plays and having a beer together was always a pleasure. Even though Bill came down with a serious illness in 2015, he never complained and kept fighting. He fought for the love of family, never giving up. He was admired by everyone that knew him for his bravery and perseverance. Bill founded the Semper Commemorata Humanitarian Fund. The fund is to help seriously ill veterans, their families and Gold Star family members with financial assistance in time of overwhelming need. He was very concerned when the young son of one of the MCL members came down with a life threating illness. Bill wanted to setup a fund for Joey Boracto but a local volunteer fire company beat him to it. Bill wasn’t deterred; he had t-shirts made and raised money for Joey. The shirts said, “Joey we have your 6” which in military terms meant that we have your back. Bill Never met his father, his dad was killed in Italy during World War 2 when Bill and his twin sister were only 14 months old. . He finally got to visit his dad’s grave in Florence Italy in May of 2019. He was treated like a celebrity as he was the only marine in dress blues among the thousands of people. Bill is now reunited with his mom and dad as well as his twin sister. They have a lot of catching up to do. When Bill learned that I had bought a niche for my final arrangements, he went to the Cemetary and bought the niche directly under mine. Then he told me, “guess what we’re bunk buddies! “Bill, my friend, I love you, it’s been a pleasure knowing you! Rest in peace Bill, until we meet again.

I just learned that Bill has passed away and I wanted to send a note to tell you how sorry we are for your loss. 

I first met Bill when Natalie was on my rec soccer team. Then we met again at Barb and Mark's Christmas parties and, of course, at the HdG Opera House shows. 

Bill is one of the very few people that I have known where there was never a lull in our conversation. A lot of the talk was about his girls, and you were one of his girls. But we also talked about Andrew and Amanda and a lot about just being a Dad - and how lucky we were. 

I'm going to miss the chance to have more of those talks. He was a very special, loving man. 

Carol and I will not be able to join you on the 9th, but I had to tell you how special Bill was to me. I will miss him too. 

May God bles. all 4 of Bill's wonderful girls.
