Art, 89, passed away peacefully at home on July 15, 2025 in Belton, Mo
He was born in Independence, Mo in March,1936 to mother Bessie (Conwell) and father Steril Payne.
He is survived by his fiancé, Bonnie Blazek of Belton Mo and brother, Lester Newell of Cassville Mo.
He was a father figure to Jerry Sparks, Ryan Sparks and Stacy Sparks. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Art worked in construction before retiring from Ft. Osage High School.
Art loved hunting, fishing and traveling. He loved spending time on his boat and had a passion for going on cruises. He also enjoyed riding around in his side by side.
Art was a man of simple pleasures and loved wrestling, brownies and hot dogs. He could make anyone laugh with some of his antics and never let anyone go without.
