She retired in 2006, went back to work in 2008, then moved to Austin, TX where she continued working before retiring again in 2018.
Donna was the epitome of love, compassion, dedication, and creativity. She embraced life and touched the lives of those around her with her zestful spirit. Her love for family was expressed through the things she loved to do: bowling, traveling, crocheting, and the torch classic.
Donna had a remarkable talent for crafting and design. With nimble fingers and an artistic eye, she made beautiful & unique creations, including her children, delicate doilies, cozy afghan blankets, Macramé, t-shirt designs, and custom designed stationery for her employers. Her handcrafted pieces displayed her skills & creativity, along with expressing the love & joy she put into them. She shared them with her family, friends, co-workers, and even those in need, spreading warmth and comfort.
Donna found joy in nature, reveled in the beauty of blooming flowers, the soothing touch of a bird's song, & the stirring of a gentle breeze making a windchime come to life. She had a green thumb and could make just about anything grow. "My thumb isn't quite as green as hers was." Her connection to the natural world was a reflection of her inner peace. She found solace & inspiration in it's wondrous beauty.
