

Eleanor Alice Lyons, 76, of Belton, MO, peacefully passed away May 6, 2010. At her side was her husband Ted, of fifty seven years, along with Chaplain McDonnell of Good Shepherd Hospice and Chaplain Danforth of Kingswood Manor. Services will be held at McGilley and George Funeral Home in Belton, MO, on Tuesday, May 11, at 10 a.m. with interment in the Belton Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, May 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Family suggests donations to the American Stroke Foundation, www.americanstroke.org. Eleanor was born to Frank T. and Alice I. (Robinson) Johnson in Topeka, KS. She was preceded in death by both of her sisters, Evelyn Johnson and Marion Horton. Survivors include husband Ted Lyons; children Jay (Linda) Lyons and Lisa (Galen) Lif; grandchildren Shelbi and Cheyanne Lyons and Samantha Lif; brother Carl A. Johnson (Doris) of Topeka, KS. Vickie Willett (Walt), Duane Johnson and Steve Horton (Sharon) are nieces and nephews dear to her heart. She also has several cousins, grand nieces and nephews and friends who will miss her. Eleanor enjoyed a wonderful life as a military wife, living in twelve different towns throughout the United States and abroad. Her final move was to Belton, MO, where her children grew up and graduated from high school. She was a devoted wife and mother but her biggest joy was being a grandmother.
