

Roger Maier, 78, of Lake Winnebago, MO, formerly of Belton, MO, passed away May 12, 2010. Visitation 5-8 p.m., Monday, May 17, at CrossRoads United Methodist Church, 700 Quicktrip Way, Belton, MO. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 18, at the church. Burial with military honors in the Belton Cemetery. Roger was born February 24, 1932 in Algona, IA, to Sherman and Helen Faber Maier. He married Alice Boyenga in 1950. Roger was an Air Force Veteran and a former air traffic controller. He married Barbara Hall in 1966. Roger was a past president of the Belton School Board. He played an active role in the Belton community and was also extensively involved in its residential and commercial development. Roger was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara; brothers, Bruce and Keith Maier; and daughter, Stacey Givan. He is survived by sons, Mark (Dawn) Maier, Floyds Knob, IN, and Kenneth (Rhonda) Maier, Reeds Springs, MO; daughters, Sandra (Ron) Murphy, Kimberly (Dallas) Hansen, both of Hampton, IA; Debbie Foster, Kansas City, MO; and Teresa (Sam) Meyer Theodosia, MO; special friend Norma White; half-sister Shirley (Rick) Derr, Maynard, IA; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
