William “Bill” Eugene Deakins, 88, of Belton, MO, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016, surrounded by his family. Funeral will be held Monday, October 31 at Heartland First Baptist Church, 810 S. Cedar St, Belton, MO, with visitation 10:00-11:00 am, service 11:00 am, burial 3:00 pm in Osceola Cemetery, Osceola MO.
Bill was born July 25, 1928 to James and Vera Inez (Hahn) Deakins. Bill was preceded in death by his mother and father, one brother, and four sisters.
Bill is survived by his wife, Bertha, of 66 years; son, Jim Deakins; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Keith Crosby; grandchildren, Sara Deakins, Samuel and Thomas Crosby; one brother, Robert Lininger; and many nieces and nephews. Bill was a Navy Veteran. He was an active member of Heartland First Baptist Church since 1964. The family suggests memorial contributions may be given to Heartland First Baptist Church.
