Angelina attended Parsons School of Design in Manhattan before marrying Angelo at the age of 19 and beginning their family in Brooklyn. In 1964, they moved to Staten Island just before the opening of the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge.
Angelina and Angelo were serial entrepreneurs, owning a bakery, a toy store, and several successful restaurants. In 1973, they purchased a home in Citrus Springs, Florida, where they later opened Poppy’s Place in Dunnellon. Angelina welcomed every guest as if they were family.
In the evenings, she was known to dominate the local Scrabble Club.
Angelina was happiest surrounded by the joyful chaos of her loving family, always cooking far more food than anyone could possibly eat — though everyone somehow did because it was so delicious. There was always music, laughter, and dancing, with everything from Frank Sinatra to Luciano Pavarotti playing in the background.
Angelina truly loved life, and her warmth, generosity, and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
