I worked with Betty when I was employed at N.Y.S. Parole where she would assist the parolees with Mentah Health referrals, appts , medication, housing and a host of other needs. A dedicated and caring person with a kind soul. Ms. Lao will truly be missed by all she crossed paths . She left a lasting impression that has not diminished in over  twenty- five years of not having seen or spoken to her. My condolences to her family and friends.

Betty Lao Ayala was my sister as she simply adopted me into the family. I was already a part of the Ayala family through Nancy Ayala. We met 50 years ago and remained friends throughout the decades. A mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and really they with each role. Highly responsible, loving and humble. The highest priority was people, and family. A God loving and spiritual human being. Betty valued each person as though they were special. 
Betty had a wonderful sense of humor that could make even the most unloving human being think and respond in laughter. 
I miss you terribly. Rest in peace I know you are bringing joy to our Lord and savior.

I will never forget Betty Lao Ayala, for her sincere love for family and friends. As a mother and grandmother, she shared all the children and grandchildren growth spurts, birthdays, baptisms and weddings with me. As I did the same. With the grand children you only had to observe her smile while looking at each baby growing up. I always remember, comments “he is a fresh one”. And at that moment the baby boy was giving his grandma a special look back. We shared our dreams and then pursued them. She always always remembered her friends and included them with trips, cruises, picnics, and family gatherings. 
She participated with a national organization non profit and at the local level through leadership roles for Latina and Puerto Rican women. Betty, received recognition for this and remained humble. She was thoroughly involved with her profession working for the state of New York. Betty prioritize her values for family, respect and empowering others and the love and strong belief in God. 
Betty was a wonderful daughter to her mom. Always making sure her mom was well taken care of spending time with her. 
I will never forget my sister, friend. Will keep you in prayer always in my life in ministry. Always sister Betty.
