Betty B. Maya, 92 of Beverly Hills, Florida died on Saturday, June 2, 2018. She was born in New York, New York on Sunday, March 21, 1926 to Albert and Julia (Aboulafia) Benezra. Betty was a retired transcriptionist for Jackson Memorial Hospital ans Mercy Hospital in Miami, Florida. She also, was a Spanish translator at Mercy Hospital. Betty enjoyed dancing, painting, collecting dolls and traveling.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Vourakis and by her daughter, Julia Maya Carr.
Survivors include her daughter, Rosanne Gulley of Beverly Hills, Florida; son, Robert Plavnick and wife Patti of Orlando, Florida; sister, Suzanne Aboulafia of California; grandchildren, Joshua Gulley and wife Jennifer of Boynton Beach, Florida, Ryan Plavnick and wife Sonya, Stephanie Allier and husband Les and Christopher Plavnick all of Orlando, Florida, Natalie Ginart Mellow of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Rachelle Ginart Roberge of New Jersey and Laura and Eric Carr both of Virginia and thirteen great grandchildren.
Visitation, Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Fero Funeral Home. Graveside Service to follow at 12 Noon at Fero Memorial Gardens.
