John Taylor, 80 passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2010. He was born in Englewood, New Jersey to Claude and Evelyn (Soutar) Taylor. He lived in Oakland and West Milford, N.J. before moving to Beverly Hills in 1994.
He worked for the Ford Motor Company and as an operator for the Passaic Valley Water Commission. He was part owener of T & T and Auto Center in West Milford.
John served in the Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Trieste, Italy. He was a member of the Dunnellon Masonic Lodge #136. John was a member of Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church where he sang in the Men's Chorus, was a member of the Men's Club and an usher at the church. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Pine Ridge Golf and Country Club. John loved to read, travel and garden.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Lillian J., a son John C. of TN and a daughter, Cathy L. of GA and two grandsons, John C. Taylor and Charles H. Taylor of TN.
There will be a Memorial Service at Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church in January. In remembrance of John, donations may be made to Covenant Children's Home, 1060 W. Withlacoochee Trail, Dunnellon, FL 34434.
