Joseph H. Brown, 95, of Beverly Hills, passed away on Sat., Sept. 3, 2011 at Nature Coast Lodge in Lecanto. A native of Brooklyn, NY, he was born June 2, 1916 to Joseph and Ethel (Brush) Brown. Mr. Brown was a retired detective with the New York City Police Dept. and also was the former owner of J & J’s Bar and Grill, Long Island, NY. Joseph was a WW II U.S. Navy veteran, serving as a Gunner’s Mate, and was a member of both the VFW and the American Legion. Mr. Brown was also a member of Citrus Masonic Lodge #118 and was formerly an active parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Joseph is survived by his sons, Dennis Brown of Inverness and Russell Brown of Beverly Hills; daughter Lorraine Brown, Pensacola; six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, The Late Edna M. Bron, in 2009. Graveside funeral services with military honors will take place on Fri., Sept. 9th at 1:00 P.M. from Fero Memorial Gardens, Beverly Hills.
