
Joseph P. Yannick, Jr., age 71, passed away on January 6, 2025, after a lengthy illness. Joe was born on July 23, 1953 in Phoenixville, PA. He graduated from Northern Chester County Technical School in 1971 and joined the U.S. Army in 1973 where he served as a military policeman in Karlsruhe, Germany.
After his discharge from the Army, he was employed by the Schuylkill Township and North Coventry Township police departments. He eventually changed careers, entering the pharmaceutical field as a security professional. In the ensuing years, he was employed by Sanofi, Merck Medco, and finally Cephalon where he finished his career as a Senior Director of Corporate Security.
Joe is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dawn Landes Yannick, three children; Joseph J. Yannick (Denise), Kristen E. Kelly (Ryan), Michael D. Yannick (Kimm) and seven grandchildren; Joseph T., Dylan and Lucas Yannick; Keelan, Rhys and Logan Kelly; and Lauren Yannick.
Joe had a passion for fishing. In 2012, he and Dawn retired to Delaware where Joe ran a part-time charter business, Pap Joe Fishing Charters. He was never happier than when he was on the water.
Joe was also devoted to his family. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with them. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren and took great pleasure in following their activities and achievements.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 10am at Seven Rivers Church, 4221 W. Gulf to Lake Highway, Lecanto, FL 34461. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by clicking here (https://www.stjude.org/)
Joe was loved and respected by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
