Leona V. Avendt, 90, of Oxford, Michigan, passed away Sat., Feb. 20, 2016 at Hospice House in Lecanto, Florida, surrounded by her loving family. A native of Rogers City, MI, she was born March 14, 1925 to Charles and Theresa Ohlrich. Leona had a full and productive life; from working in a munitions factory in Georgia during WW II to raising five children in the Detroit, Michigan area. She is gone, but her life and times will be the subject of many dinner conversations for years to come. What better legacy could you have? Leona will be missed by her five children; Carol Stanzione, Charles Avendt, Jean Haywood, Linda (Mark) Dudas and Robert (Bobby) Avendt. She also leaves ten grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She is also survived by two sisters, Rosie and Delores (Sissy), and two brothers, Charles and Gene, all who reside in Michigan. Fero Funeral Home, Beverly Hills, Florida, will be preparing Leona for her final trip to Michigan to be interred next to her late husband Charles.
