His life was a remarkable tapestry woven with dedication, service, passion, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, guided by his strong Christian faith.
Early Life and Education
Born on November 12, 1937, in Hamilton, Ontario, to Emma and Elvet Morgan, Lloyd relocated to the United States in his teens alongside his parents, embarking on a journey that shaped a legacy of distinction. He graduated from Washington Lee High School and pursued higher education, earning a degree in accounting from Benjamin Franklin University in 1956. This academic foundation paved the way for a distinguished career.
Military Service
Lloyd honorably served his adopted country in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1964, achieving the rank of Specialist 4th Class. His service was recognized with a Good Conduct Medal and an Expert Rifle (M-1) qualification, reflecting his discipline and skill.
Career
Lloyd’s professional life was marked by exceptional service and innovation. He devoted 37 years to Washington Gas, where he began as an accountant, pioneered the management of the company’s first computer systems, and rose to the position of director before retiring. His expertise continued to shine during his 17-year tenure at Advanced Technology Systems (ATS), where he served as a program manager for HUD until his retirement. His contributions left a lasting legacy of leadership and progress in both organizations.
Personal Life and Passions
On September 12, 1987, Lloyd married Mary Ann Sides, beginning a loving partnership that spanned nearly four decades. A dedicated family man, he cherished every moment with his loved ones, leaving an indelible mark on their lives. Guided by his strong Christian faith, he lived with integrity and compassion. He was a dedicated member of the Jaycees, actively participating in the cherry blossom festival well into his 50s, showcasing his commitment to community. Lloyd’s vibrant spirit was evident in his diverse passions: model railroading, golf, mystery novels, classical music, sports car club racing, crosswords, sudoku, traveling, and cruises, which reflected his curious and dynamic nature.
Family and Legacy
Lloyd is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Ann; his stepson, Jonathan; daughter-in-law, Sarah; and his beloved grandchildren, Ayden and Kyernan, who will carry forward his warmth, enthusiasm, and faith. He was predeceased by his brother, Ralph, whose memory he held dear.

A celebration of Lloyd’s extraordinary life will be held from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Fero Funeral Home in Beverly Hills, Florida, on May 23, 2025.
