Mabel Kathern Wayne

Mabel K. Wayne, 104, beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, passed away on August 5, 2023 at The Reserves at Citrus Senior Living Center. She was born May 29, 1919, in Dorcus, West Virginia to William E. and Mima R. Hines. She was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew V. Wayne, her son William Hugh Wayne, her parents, five brothers, Vance, Oscar, Virgil, Tommy, David and Paul, and one sister, Pluma Hines Deavers She is survived by her four children, Charlotte Sainz, Matthew Wayne, Marlene Sosnosky and Patricia Vidal, seven grandchildren, David Sainz, Joseph Wayne, Charles Wayne, Daniel Sosnosky, Lara Sosnosky, Juan Vidal and Jason Vidal, three great grandchildren, Kyle Wayne, C. Matthew Wayne and Andrew Sainz. She is also survived by a step-grandchild, Christine Snodgrass and great grandchild, Haylee Snodgrass. Following her retirement on June, 1 1984, as a Quality Control Supervisor for Electro Therm, Laurel, MD., she continued to do volunteer work at the local hospital, the Thrift Shop, Laurel Senior Friendship Club and several other senior club organizations in Laurel, Md. She was an avid bowler who bowled for over 30 years in leagues at the Laurel Bowling Center until she moved to Florida in 2018, at 98 years of age. She loved doing word search puzzles, volunteering and cooking for friends and family.
