Madeline Frances Baker, age 84, of Ghent, New York passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023. Born September 18, 1938, Madeline, or “Marlene” as she was known by, grew up in Clinton, New York and graduated from Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park. She went on to work in Social Services and Care as a Nutritional Aid.
On January 14, 1990 Marlene married David Baker. Together they enjoyed travelling in their camper. Half time residents between Florida and New York, they also enjoyed travelling to Myrtle Beach, Texas, and points in between. She was even a member of the WINGS club. Marlene was also an excellent gardener, keeping up with three separate gardens of both flowers and vegetables in the places she called home. She was even known for the beautiful garden she kept at their camper lot, where other residents would stop by to tell her how lovely it was. Marlene’s other passionate hobby was thrifting! She loved shopping thrift stores and was an avid bargain hunter. It could be said that she never saw a thrift store she didn’t want to stop at. Marlene was full of life, enjoying music, dancing, and pursuing her hobbies with joy.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Clinton and Madeline; her sister, Marilyn and Melinda; and by two sons Michael Arsenault and Robert Arsenault. She is survived by her son, Brett Arsenault; her daughter-in-law, Christine Major; David’s children Chris (Stephanie) and Sharon (Joe); her brothers Clinton (Ginny) Hoffman and Jeffrey (Sue) Hoffman; 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her loving husband, David. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
