

Marie Anne Carden, 76, formerly of Citrus Springs, Florida passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2011. She was born on Monday, October 21, 1935 in Nutley, New Jersey to Ronald Sage and Effie Afton (Sprague) Rhoades. Marie was of the Episcopalian faith and was a retired purchasing agent with Kimberly Clark Corporation. She was a former member of the Purchasing Management Association of Birmingham, Alabama; the Citrus Springs Civic Association, where she was appointed as the historian; the American Social Club of Beverly Hills, where she was the publicity chairwoman; the Rainbow Rivers Club of Dunnellon and a member of Living Information For Today. Marie entered the first Relay for Life in 2006 in Citrus Springs. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, fishing, photography, scrap-booking, traveling and playing cards.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Carden on May 22, 2005 and her step daughters, Ruthann Trabulsi and Donna Carden.
Survivors include her daughters, Sophia D. Sweeny and husband Jim of Millbrook, New York and Deborah A. Strattis of Alabama; son, Joseph R. Grant of Orlando, Florida; cousin, Barbara A. Provost of Vero Beach, Florida; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Memorial Gathering, Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 3:30 P.M. with a Chapel Service of Remembrance following at 4:00 P.M. at Fero Funeral Home.
