Marie A. Shea, 91 of Lecanto, Florida died on Saturday, January 24, 2015. She was born on Friday, October 5, 1923 in New York, New York to John and Mary (Darcy) Egan. Marie was a retired high school teacher in the Albuquerque, New Mexico public school system. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, the Irish Club and enjoyed playing cards, attending plays, volunteering in the community and Bible study.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph R. Shea on December 17, 2006 and her son, Michael T. Shea on October 18, 2004.
Survivors include her son, James Shea and wife Tammy of Weeki Wachee, Florida; daughter, Mary R. Regina and husband Michael of Malverne, New York; sister, Dorothy Malkin of Wilmington, New York; grandchildren, Lavender Frye and husband Jacob of Brooksville, Florida, John Michael Regina and Elise Marie Regina both of Malverne, New York and great grandchildren, Autumn Hamm and Karma Frye.
Visitation, Thursday, January 29, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Fero Funeral Home. Funeral Mass, Friday, January 30, 2015 at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Grace. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery.
