

Paul M. DiCaro, passed away December 7th, 2020 in Lecanto FL. Paul was born on April 28th, 1937 in Ansonia, Connecticut to loving parents Angelo and Antoinette DiCaro. He attended St. Joseph's Parochial School in 1951, and was an altar server during his time there. He graduated in 1955 from Shelton High School; where he had been the co-captain of Shelton High Schools' football team, and a star quarterback, achieving All-Valley and All-State honorable Mentions. In 1956, Paul joined the United States Marine Corps. During his time in service he was awarded Meritorious Corporal; and he was most proud of his service in the Marine Corps., and felt - as they say - once a Marine, always a Marine. After the Marine's; Paul provided for his family by working for Sikorsky Aircraft, where he retired after 33 years. He also served as a Shelton Police Officer during that time, and was elected President of the Shelton Police Association. IN 1992, Paul and his wife Carol moved to Citrus County. He then spent time as a member of the Citrus Hills Men's Golf Association, serving on the Entertainment Committee there. He was a parishioner of St. Scholastica Church, in Lecanto. Paul had the biggest heart and loved his family deeply. He will be missed by all of us who loved him. Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Angelo and Antoinette DiCaro, his brother Frank DiCaro; and his beloved son Paul DiCaro. Paul is survived by his wife, Carol "Angel" DiCaro, His daughters Mary Brooks and Laua Vasas, his brother Sal Dicaro; grandsons Gary Vasas, Julian Brooks, Tyler DiCaro; granddaughters Lyndsy Vasas and Anya DiCaro; and a great-granddaughter Gabriella Grace O;Connell. He is further survived by his sister-in-law Carol DiCaro, nephews Frank DiCaro and Sal Dicaro, and nieces Kim Blount and Nancy Tomson. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held, after which Paul will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
