Richard J. O'Connor

Richard J. O’Connor, 79 of Citrus Springs, Florida died on Saturday, September 6, 2014. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on Wednesday, January 23, 1935 to John and Marie (Arquette) O’Connor. Richard was a retired supervisor with a Michigan State Hospital and retired after 27 years and moved from Coldwater, Michigan 16 years ago to Citrus Springs, Florida. He was a member of Beverly Hills Community Church, the Michigan Club and was an avid bowler, enjoyed old cars, model cars, his Hess truck collection and angel figurines.

Richard was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda O’Connor; grandson, Lonnie Bond; son-in-law, Red Hoard; brothers, Gordon, Ralph, Roy, Denny, Danny and Robert O’Connor and by his sisters, Rosie O’Connor, Evelyn West and baby girl O’Connor.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Sharron (Henry) O’Connor of Citrus Springs, Florida; sons, Rick O’Connor of Coldwater, Michigan and Steve O’Connor of Citrus Springs, Florida; daughters, Sherry Howard and husband Matt of Climax, Michigan, Debra Hoard of Sturgis, Michigan, Sandy Bond and husband Arthur of Beverly Hills, Florida and Rolinda Risner of Battle Creek, Michigan; brothers, Larry O’Connor of Detroit, Michigan, Edward O’Connor and wife Irene of Detroit, Michigan, Kenneth O’Connor and wife Sarah of Detroit, Michigan and Johnny O’Connor and wife Linda of Roseville, Michigan; eight grandchildren, Belinda, Jacquie, Melissa, Jennifer, Lindsay, Sean, Genevieve and Arthur; thirteen great grandchildren, Brooke, Kasey, Brittany, Austin, Corah, Zach, Kendra, Kaleb, Brenda, Katie, Landyn, Brayton and Madison and four great great grandchildren, Benny Ray, Kheilecy Joy, Sophia Rose and Raelyn Sophie.

Visitation, Friday, September 12, 2014 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM with a Chapel Service following at Fero Funeral Home with Reverend Stewart Jamison, III, officiating.
