Thomas G. Bailey

.Thomas Bailey, 75, of Citrus Springs, FL passed from this life on December 4, 2021. Born August 9, 1946 in Chelsea, MA, Tom was the son of the late Lillian Laskey and Emerson Bailey. He was predeceased by his Dad, Joseph Vieira, brother, Donald Bailey, his beloved brother and sister-in-law, Rich and Delores Dragotta; and daughter-in-law, Josette Dzencelowcz. He sadly leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Nancy; his brothers, Joseph (Phyllis), Paul and Tony Vieira; his children, Tom Bailey (Melissa), Tom Lawrenson (Lisa), Michele Lawrenson (Frank), Sean Bailey and Rich Lawrenson (Melissa); grandchildren, Eddie McDaniel, Thomas Lawrenson, James Bailey, George Bailey and Jack Bailey, and many nieces and nephews.

Tom was grateful to have connected with his extended Menominee family in Wisconsin later in life and enjoyed his visits with his brothers, sisters and their families.

Tom grew up in Boston and served in the Vietnam War. He moved to NY in 1973 and married Nancy in 1977. He volunteered his time with the New Windsor Little League for many years, coaching countless teams and serving on their Board. He was a hard-working man, with a strong work ethic. He spent the bulk of his career in tele-communications at Texaco and retired from IBM.

Tom loved life – spending time with family and friends, golfing, watching sports, following world news, camping, traveling in his RV and parenting his dogs, Gia and Buddy. He was the life of any party and was never one to turn down an opportunity to try something new or to gather for food, drink and fun. His stories were legendary amongst his friends and family. Tom had excellent mechanical skill and could fix anything using whatever resources he had available. He was a compassionate man who would go out of his way to help a friend, a neighbor, or a complete stranger.

The family will be honoring Tom’s request for cremation without a wake service and will be planning a celebration of life event in the future. Donations, in lieu of flowers may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
