Warren 'Larry' Woodard

Warren "Larry" Woodard of Pine Ridge went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 20, 2017. Larry was born on Friday, August 16, 1940 in Dallas, Texas, son of the late Waldo and Maebeth Woodard. Left to cherish his memories are his beloved wife, Jane; son, Bob (Rae) of North Carolina; granddaughters, Samantha and Megan; great grandchildren, McKayla, Kaylyn, Gunner, Maverick and Wyatt.

Larry served in the Marines and was a Staff Sergeant in the Army. He served two tours in Vietnam and was a highly decorated combat veteran.

After Larry was discharged from the Army he worked for the Broward County School Board. While living in Miami, Larry attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, where he was involved in "Clowns for Christ Ministry". He assisted his parents in "Pass It On", a store front ministry to help feed the poor. Larry was very active in the Christian men's movement, "Cursillo". In 2002, Larry and Jane retired to Pine Ridge.

Larry's hobbies included anything to do with the water, beekeeping, golfing, bowling, making and flying model airplanes and was a great karaoke singer affectionately known as "Larry No Cash - Empty Pockets".

Larry was a member of American Legion Post 237, VFW Post 10087 and West Citrus Elks.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 2:30 PM with Larry's Memorial Service of Remembrance following at 3:00 PM at Fero Funeral Home, 5955 N. Lecanto Hwy, Beverly Hills, Florida.

The Woodard family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church, 4221 W. Gulf to Lake Hwy., Lecanto, Fl. 34461. On the memo section of your check, please reference Larry Woodard - "The Big Give 2017" which will serve many local ministries.
