

Arlie Houston Miller, age 85, of Birmingham, Alabama went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. Arlie was born July 24, 1934 in Tueplo, Mississippi to William Otto Miller and Dora Enis Crider. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Otto Miller (Joyce) and Dora Enis Crider (Grady); brothers, Buford Miller, George "Dupree" Miller, and Wade Miller; and sister, Annie Sue Evans. He is survived by his loving wife, Audrey Bennefield Miller; his four sons, Dewayne Miller (Debbie), Damon Miller (Jeanie), Darren Miller (Lisa), and Derrick Miller (Karen); sister, Christine Ballew; brothers, Dewitt Miller and Frankie Crider; 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; as well as a host of friends who will all miss him dearly.
Arlie attended school in Saltillo, Mississippi. He served in the U.S. Navy. He married his wife, Audrey on November 14, 1955 in Lowndes County, Mississippi. He worked in management at the Lyric, Empire, and Midfield Theaters. He retired as an insurance agent with Life of Georgia, where he worked for many years.
A celebration of life will be held graveside for Mr. Miller's immediate family on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at 2 pm at Elmwood Cemetery.
Due to the concerns surrounding Covid-19, and in compliance with city & county ordinances gatherings of 10 or more are prohibited and social distance is required.
