Barbara Hand Somers, age 88, of Mountain Brook, Alabama passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020. Barbara was born February 12, 1932. She was a lifelong resident of Mountain Brook and a member of the Junior League, Birmingham Country Club, and enjoyed volunteering at St. Vincents Hospital as well as an avid Tennis Player. She attended the University of Alabama and a member of Canterbury Methodist Church. She was preceded by her father and mother, John and Elizabeth Hand, survived by her children, John C. Somers (Jennifer); Melanie E. Frusterio (Chuck); George F. Somers, Jr (Beth); Brother, John A. Hand Jr.; Grandchildren, Katie Somers, Brooke Frusterio, Lauren Frusterio, George Somers, Steve Somers and John Somers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.
