Bernard M. Goldstein, Sr. age 92, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on April 29, 2017. Bernard was the owner of The Canterbury Shop in Mt. Brook for many years. He was a decorated veteran of World War II and served at the Battle of the Bulge. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Nancy S. Goldstein; brothers: Lawrence and Donald Goldstein; his parents, Nathan and Rose Goldstein. Survivors include his sons: Bernard M. Goldstein, Jr. and wife Lynda, Michael S. Goldstein and wife Pam, Jerry R. Goldstein, Sr. and wife Catherine; brother-in-law, Leonard Selber and wife Mary Anne; sister-in-law, Mitzi Goldstein. Bernard is also survived by five grandchildren and their spouses, seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Fair Haven and also the staff at the VA Hospital. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials contributions be made to The Disabled Veterans of America or the charity of your choice. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Cantor Jessica Roskin is officiating.
