Betty Jo Mann Dooly of Birmingham, born October 11, 1927, died on March 25, 2022, at the age of 94. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Shafer Judson Dooly, and by her parents, Henry Calvin and Tessa Faye Baker Mann. She was a graduate of Woodlawn High School and Birmingham-Southern College, with a Master’s degree from UAB. Betty worked in education for 44 years, teaching at Hemphill School and Barrett Elementary and serving as principal at Lakeview School and Going Elementary School. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church, now Liberty Park Baptist. A generous benefactor of the Greater Birmingham Humane Society, she had pets all her life and loved them dearly. A family burial will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery.
