

Betty Joyce Turner-McMillan, age 95, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2024. Born on August 19, 1929, Betty was a woman of remarkable character, whose loyalty, hard work, and humor touched the lives of all who knew her.
Betty was preceded in death by her loving parents, Henry Rempson Turner and Myrtle Francis Sims-Turner, and her two beloved brothers, James Leroy Turner, Sr., and Eugene B. Turner. She is survived by her three children, Warren Turner McMillan, Catherine Elizabeth McMillan-Levy (Charles), and Ashley Lynn McMillan (Teresa), as well as her devoted nephew, Tim Turner (Rachel).
Betty was a member of McElwain Baptist Church, where she was baptized on April 18, 1982. Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life, providing her with strength and comfort in all her endeavors.
Betty began her early career at Bell South Telephone Company, where her hard work and dedication were evident. She later chose to leave her career to raise her family, a decision that reflected her deep commitment to those she loved. Once her children were grown, Betty embarked on a new career in the clothing dry cleaning industry, where she worked diligently until her well-deserved retirement.
Known for her down-to-earth nature, Betty had a sense of humor that could light up any room. She was honest to a fault, generous to those in need, and always ready with a kind word or a good laugh. Her life was a testament to the values of hard work, loyalty, and love. Betty's legacy of kindness, generosity, and humor will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Betty will be remembered for her unwavering love and commitment to her family, her kind and generous spirit, and her strong faith. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held at Hope Community Church of Birmingham, AL on August 29 at 11:00 am with a service beginning at 12:00pm. Interment, following at Forest Hills Cemetery in Birmingham Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hope Community Church in memory of Betty.
