Billie L. Long, age 97 of Birmingham passed away Monday, November 13, 2017. She was a retired Administrative Assistant with the US Federal Government and was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Long. Survivors include her son, Virgil M. Sims, Jr. and wife Louise; grandson, Randle A. Sims; granddaughters: Melissa Emerson (Scott) and Jennifer Harris (Barry); great grandchildren: Jack and Drew Emerson and Grace and Emma Harris. Her graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Elmwood Cemetery.
