Carolyn Griffin Bradford

CAROLYN GRIFFIN BRADFORD, age 93 passed away Monday, July 29, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Ralph Rowlen Bradford; brother, James Winston Griffin; and sister, Ruth Griffin Nall. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Bradford Thomas (Jim); son, David Edwin Bradford (Jamie); brother, Leonard William Griffin (Ramona); grandchildren, Stephanie Thomas Koenenn (Kodie), Matthew Alan Bradford (Caroline), Alexis Brooke Elledge (Braxton), Hannah Lynn Paffumi, Joshua Scott Paffumi, Abigail Elizabeth Bradford and Logan Rowlen Bradford; great-grandchildren, Makelsie Elaine Koenenn, Kaison James Koenenn, Mirna Nicole Jones, Payton Renee Bradford, Matthew Cade Bradford, Whitley Reese Bradford and Stetson Ellis Elledge; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members. Carolyn graduated from Houston County High School in 1949. She met and married Ralph in Montgomery in 1957 where upon they moved to Birmingham. She was a caring and compassionate wife and mother to her family. During her early years in Birmingham, Carolyn was a member of the Alabama Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She worked as a librarian at Center Point Elementary School in the 70’s. She was an excellent seamstress and worked for Friend Sisters in Roebuck for 20 plus years all the while sewing for many outside of Friend Sisters as well. This afforded her many friendships throughout the years and provided many satisfying happy moments. Upon retirement, Carolyn and Ralph built their dream home on Logan Martin Lake where they hosted many friends and family over the next twenty years. Throughout their marriage Carolyn and Ralph were faithful members of Huffman Baptist Church, then Hilldale Baptist Church in Center Point and then upon retirement moved their membership to Eastaboga Baptist Church. Graveveside service at Alabama National Cemetery on Monday, August 5, 2024 beginning at 10:15 AM where she will join her husband who was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
