A proud native of Birmingham, Chuck spent his life building a legacy rooted in hard work, creativity, and deep devotion to his family. He graduated from Ramsay High School in 1952. After serving four years in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, he completed two years at Birmingham Business College. His time in the military instilled in him a strong sense of discipline and commitment that would carry through every chapter of his life.
Chuck was a gifted Certified Kitchen Designer whose entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish and operate two successful businesses: Cabinet Systems South and Signature Tops. A consummate salesman with a sharp mind and quick wit, he earned a reputation for excellence in his field and left a lasting mark on countless homes throughout the region.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Chuck found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved working in his garden and spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. Lake Mitchell and Orange Beach were among his favorite retreats—places where he could relax with loved ones and enjoy nature’s beauty. An avid traveler, Chuck explored destinations across the United States as well as Mexico and Germany. He also had a passion for photography and proudly served as the family’s photographer and videographer, capturing cherished memories for generations to come.
Chuck’s competitive spirit shone through in his love for card games—he was known as a card shark who rarely turned down a good game of Gin Rummy. Throw in a good dessert and he would likely consider it a perfect day.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Barrett Lambert; daughter Kristen Lambert Osborn Wall and her husband Larry Wall; son Kevin Lambert and his wife Elizabeth Lambert; grandchildren Garrett Osborn, Katherine Lambert, and Graham Lambert; brother Don Lambert and his wife Mary; sister Barbara Snyder; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Oliver Jefferson Lambert; mother Dorothy Mabel Densmore Lambert; and brother Daniel Lambert.
Chuck will be remembered for his intelligence, humor, dedication to family, and unwavering work ethic. He will be greatly missed but will live on in our hearts and memories forever.
May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him. A Visitation will be held on December 19, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 02:00 PM at Johns-Ridout's Mortuary-Elmwood Chapel 800 Dennison Ave SW. Private family graveside burial to follow visitation.
