Charlie U. Lott of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on Saturday November 25, 2017 at the age of 97. He was born in Cullman County to Ulyssess and Dale Lott on February 6, 1920. Charles attended St. Bernard and was a graduate of Cullman High School. Charles proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. He attended UAB while working with Southern Bell where he retired in management as the outside plant engineer. He taught Sunday school and sang in the choir at his former church. He was a long time member of McElwain Baptist Church. He enjoyed his private pilot license, fishing, and bowling. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Ulyssess and Dale; his son, Gary; sister, Venita; and brothers, Cecil, Alton, George, and Donald. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 68 years Elene; granddaughter, Lily and her mother, Debbie; his sisters, Cleo, Mildred, and Shirley; and his brother, Jimmy. A parlor service will be held Wednesday November 29, 2017 at 11:00 am at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel with visitation beginning at 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
