

Mrs. Clemestine Murdock C. Perrymon, age 94 of Birmingham, AL went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 22, 2025 peacefully at home. Clemestine Perrymon was born October 22, 1931. She was predeceased by her late father; Reverend Clinton (C.M.) Murdock, her mother Mollie Hodge Murdock, her brothers; Clinton, James, Robert, and John Murdock, and her sisters; Eddie Mae Lawler, Clara M. McNeal, Dorothy M. Patton, and a God Son Luther Harrison. Mrs. Perrymon (along with her twin brother Clinton) is the third born of their parents. The two were affectionately known as, "Sister and Brother." Mrs. Perrymon gave her life to Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized by her father at Mt Hebron in the Acipco-Finley neighborhood of Birmingham, Alabama.
After completing Lewis Elementary and Industrial High School (now known as A.H. Parker High) she entered the workforce and was employed by the upmarket department store Parisian. She had a strong work ethic that she instilled in her children. Being late was never something that she tolerated. She would often teach moral lessons to her family and everyone else that she came in contact with. She was a classy lady inside and out.
Mrs. Perrymon loved her family and her job. She would leave home early most mornings too early for breakfast, but on Sundays she would prepare a delicious breakfast. Some of her favorite items were; grits, scrambled eggs, salmon croquette, sausage patties, bacon, and blueberry muffins. As a baker she was known for making delicious desserts such as; German chocolate, lemon, coconut, and sour cream pound cakes, sweet potato, apple, and lemon meringue pies.
Now when it came to shopping for clothing, she believed in looking good. She was always 'Best Dressed.' She was sweet and kind hearted but everyone knew not to cross her because she was feisty.
Some of her hobbies included; bowling, traveling, yard work, interior decorating, collecting figurines, sitting on the porch, and taking walks. The Lord also blessed her with the gift of singing which she used at; Mt. Hebron, Oak Street, Bethel Baptist Church - Berney Points (previously Birmingham's Bethel Baptist Church Southside). New Salem Missionary Baptist and many other congregations as they celebrated choir anniversaries.
Mrs. Perrymon is survived by her sons; Raymond L. Murdock (Gloria), Michael J. Calhoun (Ann), and Ronald E. Calhoun (Bernice). She also leaves behind Grandchildren; RayShon D. Gaines (Landrum), Tomika Ortega (Daniel), Michael Calhoun Jr. (Eboni), Darla Paulena (Lionel), Ariel Calhoun, Javacia Harris, Ashlee C. Mack, Larry Green (Amanda), Monica D. Hardwick, Kimberly Green, Tequilla Green, David Green (Melissa); 24 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren, 1 sister in love Patricia C Murdock, and a host of nieces and nephews. God Children; Joseph Butch McDaniel, Cathy Hunter, Diane Thomas, Jan S. Grant, Kecia Henderson, Tonya Armstrong Killings, friends, former co-workers, and neighbors.
