Eloise Constance Johnson Halbert of Hoover, AL, 92, passed away on February 26, 2025. She was born September 28, 1932, to Henry H. and Maggie Johnson in Birmingham, Alabama. Eloise attended and graduated from Shades Cahaba High School. She worked at Moore-Handley where she met her husband, John G. Halbert, who preceded her in death in 1977. After getting married, she became a homemaker to raise her son. Eloise loved God, her family, and her many friends. She also loved to cook, and would assist those in need or who were shut-in. She liked to travel with friends and family. She was a member of Central Church of Christ, Riverchase Church of Christ, and also Homewood Church of Christ.
She is survived by her son, Scott A. Halbert and his family; and her step-son, John W. Halbert and his family; as well as other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be on Thursday, March 6th at 1pm at Elmwood Cemetery. All attendees are asked to meet at the Elmwood Chapel lot, at 800 Dennison Avenue SW, Birmingham, AL 35211, by 12:45 pm to process to the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Riverchase Church of Christ, Homewood Church of Christ, or Lipscomb University.
