Constantine Demetrios “Cass” Morros, age 85, passed away peacefully at his home in Blue Mountain Beach, Florida, on Monday afternoon, December 22, 2025.
Born on June 14, 1940, in Birmingham, Alabama, Cass was the son of Greek immigrants Dimitrios Konstantine Morros and Olga Thouas Morros, who preceded him in death. His beloved son, Demetrius Konstantine “Jimmy” Morros also passed away in 2016.
Constantine was raised in a Greek Orthodox home, where faith, family, and community were central to his life. Greek was his first language, and he learned English through his aunt Georgia while attending public school and afternoon Greek school. He graduated from Ramsay High School, attended Georgia Tech briefly, and completed his undergraduate studies at Birmingham-Southern College, where he met the love of his life, Vina.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and went on to specialize in diagnostic radiology. Constantine proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era, including service at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines. He practiced radiology with Birmingham Radiological Group for 35 years, retiring in 2006. Even after retirement, he continued part-time and consulting work, splitting his time between Birmingham and Blue Mountain Beach.
Constantine was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Vina Morros; his son, Andrew Morros, Andrew’s wife Michele and their children, Drew and Anna; his daughter, Kristina, and her daughter, Zoë; his daughter-in-law Adriana; and her daughters, Georgia and Kate. Family was always his greatest joy.
Cass was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity–Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Birmingham, Alabama. He found meaning in his faith, church life, and was a member of the choir. Outside of medicine and family, he especially loved playing golf and cherished time spent on the course with family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Holy Trinity–Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Birmingham. Visitation will take place from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, with Johns Ridout’s directing. A Makaria (sympathy meal) will be held afterward in the cathedral banquet hall.
