Cindy Keller Burson, “Nana”, age 72 passed away on November 19, 2025. She was born December 19,1952 to Jack Edward Keller and Jimmie Lou Richardson Keller. She was predeceased by her husband of almost 50 years, Ronald Wayne Burson. She has 2 children, Steven Burson (Kerri Barefield Burson) and Lindsay Burson Metcalf (Casey Christopher Metcalf), and 4 grandsons, Jack Reed Burson, Michael Scott Burson, Major Washington Metcalf, and Maverick Alexander Metcalf. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Ann Keller and brother James Edward Keller (Beth Nease Keller, Hannah Keller Carmack, and Kathryn Keller Keating), and many close family members and cousins.
She attended Shades Valley High School and Jacksonville State University. She attended North Shelby Baptist Church and had been involved in her Sunday school class. In her younger years she loved being at Jazzercise classes, finding a pool to hang out at, and camping and boating on Lake Martin. She enjoyed the beach and spending tine at the beach house with her husband and anything to do with her 4 grandsons, who she adored. She is described as a quirky, fun-loving Mom and Nana who never shielded away from telling anyone (even strangers) the truth.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 11:30 am until 12:00 pm at Johns Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel; a celebration of Cindy’s life will follow at 12:00 pm. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at Elmwood Cemetery.
