Dan Youngblood II, affectionately known by some as DM Youngblood, passed away peacefully at home on May 2, 2025. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Dan leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Dan retired from CSX Transportation after a dedicated career. A Minor High School alumnus, he had a lifelong passion for drag racing, both as a participant in his younger years and as an avid viewer until his final days.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Sheila Youngblood; his son, Dan Youngblood III (Stacey); his daughter, Kerri Couch (Todd); grandchildren Joshua Jones, Lauren J. Moore (Austin), Paityn Youngblood, Madisyn Youngblood, Allisyn Youngblood, Madison C. Robertson (Ryan), and Brandon Couch; three great-grandchildren; his brother, Larry Youngblood (Maves); and his sister, Amy Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Carol Youngblood, and his sister, Laura Schmid.
Funeral services will be held at Elmwood Cemetery on May 7, 2025. Visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. A graveside service will immediately follow.
Dan’s warmth, humor, and love for his family and racing will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
