Knight, David “Henry” age 72 of Birmingham passed away Friday, February 10, 2012 at his home. He was born January 11, 1940. Henry was retired from The Birmingham News in 2002. He was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and attended the Trussville Congregation. He is preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Willie Knight, and his sister, Athalea Allred. Henry is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mary Ruth Knight; his children, Tony Knight (Anita), Terry Knight (Pam), Pamela Todd (Barry), and Sandra Garrison (Curtis); seven grandchildren, Ben Knight (Jessica), Jordan Knight, Jeff Knight (Christin), Zak Todd, Courtney McMillian (James), Whitney Todd, and Trae Garrison; one great granddaughter, Lucy Knight; his two brothers, Johnny Knight (Marlyn) and Roger Knight (Gaye).
Visitation will be Sunday, February 12, 2012 from 5 to 7 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with interment in Valley Springs Cemetery in Cullman, Al. Ben Knight and Jordan Knight will officiate the services and pallbearers will be grandsons and grandson-in-law, James McMillian.
