Donald R. Tanner, age 73 of Hueytown passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017. Don was a retired Service Technician from AT&T. He attained the highest score on the Fire Direction Test conducted on October 26, 1966 and earned his Parachute Badge while serving in the US Army. Survivors include his wife, Sherry P. Tanner; son, Brad (Beth) Tanner; grandson, Alex Tanner; brother, David Tanner; nieces and nephew: Mary Grace, Don and Traci. His graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2017 at Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
