

Doris Campbell Shaw, 94, formerly of Pelham, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on March 19, 2026. She was born on October 16, 1931, in Ensley, Alabama. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Paul B. Shaw; her parents, Charles W. Campbell and Jennie Bross Campbell; and her two brothers, Harry N. Campbell (Kathryn) and Charles W. Campbell, Jr. (Paula). She was the beloved mother to and survived by Connie Shaw Granata (Salvatore) and Paul B. Shaw, Jr. (Elizabeth), grandmother of five, great-grandmother of five and aunt to multiple nieces and nephews.
Doris was a long-time member of the Ensley Christian Church and a charter member of Grace Christian Church in Helena. She was a graduate of Ensley High School and attended Auburn University, Where she was a member of Theta Upsilon Sorority. In their earlier years of marriage, she and her husband loved to jitterbug and were avid square dancers. Doris loved to read and enjoyed music, travel, and spending time with her friends and family.
Doris began her professional career as a teller for Iron and Steel Credit Union (later changed to America’s First Federal Credit Union) in Ensley. She was instrumental in opening the credit union’s first branch office, where she was promoted to loan officer. She became the first female branch manager for the credit union and was the long-time manager of the Hoover office, later managing the main branch in downtown Birmingham prior to her retirement.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 from 11 am until 12pm at Johns Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home. A celebration of Doris’ life will follow in the chapel at noon. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband at Elmwood Cemetery.
