Dorothy "Dot" Mae Langston

Dorothy "Dot" Mae Langston (nee Journey), 95, went home to her Heavenly Father on July 16, 2021. Dot was born May 5, 1926 in Birmingham, Alabama to Elton and Minnie nee Austin Journey. Dot was wife to the late Oscar "Tony" Allen Langston and loving mother to the late Paul "Allen" Langston (Jo Alice) and Roger Earl Langston (Heidi). She was devoted Grandmother to Josh Stewart, Jill Reeves (Steven), Jennifer Langston (Charlie Giles), Paige Langston and Peyton Langston. She was extremely proud Great-Grandmother to Alex Stewart, Olivia and Vivianne Giles and Wyatt Reeves. Dot graduated Ensley High School in Birmingham, Alabama in 1944. She worked for over 40 years at Metlife Insurance. Dot was a member of 4th Avenue Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Chalkville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Tony, son Allen Langston, brother Elton “Buck” Journey and sister Edith Stone. Dot had a persistent faith in the Lord and it showed through her loving advice, kindness and devotion to family. Dot "Grandma" Langston will be sorely missed, but her family is glad she woke up at the right hand of her Savior, Jesus Christ and reunited with her Husband and Son. Her family will celebrate her life with visitation on Monday, July 19, 2021 from 12:30-1:30 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel with her service beginning at 1:30. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
