Dorothy K. Layton, age 97, passed away on October 3, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Layton; and her loving daughter in law Janet Layton. She is survived by her sons, Jim Layton and Jerry Layton (Donna); grandchildren, Brett Layton, Carla Russell (Vann), Erika Criswell (Kevin); great grandchildren, Spencer, Sam, and Sawyer Russell; Jackson and Garrett Criswell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was a nurse for over 50 years at Highland Baptist Hospital, St. Vincent's Hospital, Hayes Aircraft, Chicago Bridge, and Jefferson County Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be Monday, October 7, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her memory to the ALS Society, in honor of her daughter in law Janet.
